Webcentive MCP server

Read-only Model Context Protocol server for the Webcentive directory (since 1998). Transport: Streamable HTTP (JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST). No authentication.

Endpoint

Preferred: POST https://www.webcentive.com/api/mcp
Discovery: https://www.webcentive.com/.well-known/mcp (same CGI; not an HTML index)
Server card: server-card.json

Why /api/mcp: scanners that open /.well-known/mcp must receive the MCP endpoint, not a directory listing. The human docs stay on this /mcp/ HTML page; agents POST to /api/mcp (and to /.well-known/mcp after the rewrite).

Tools

• get_today_news — argument cat (slug [a-z0-9-]{1,30})
• list_categories — homepage directory categories
• search_categories — argument query (1–80 chars)

Legacy Python MCP at /cgi-bin/mcp/mcp.cgi remains available for older clients.
