Tires

Tires, with safety first. Check pressure monthly when the tires are cold, using the number on the driver's door sticker, not the sidewall. Replace tires when the tread is worn (the penny test), and register new tires so you get recall notices. To read the age, find the DOT Tire Identification Number on the sidewall: the last four digits are the week and year it was made, so 0325 means the 3rd week of 2025. Some makers say to replace tires 6 to 10 years old whatever the tread. Look up recalls with NHTSA. Makers and stores below are commercial.
