Telescopes, astronomy clubs and stargazing, with eye safety first. Never point a telescope, binoculars or camera at the sun without a proper solar filter on the front, and use eclipse glasses that meet ISO 12312-2 from a supplier the AAS lists. The best first step is a local astronomy club star party, where you can try telescopes before you buy. Meade Instruments ceased operations in 2024, and the old meade.com link now goes to an unrelated company, so it has been removed. Makers and stores below are commercial.
