Emergency Preparedness

Emergency preparedness, with official guidance first. Start with Ready.gov: make a family plan, build a kit (water for at least several days, food, medicines, a flashlight, a first aid kit, copies of documents) and know your local alerts. A NOAA Weather Radio works when phones and power don't. After a disaster, get help only through DisasterAssistance.gov or FEMA; scammers pose as both. Off-grid power, water and heat are on the related pages below. Kits and food below are commercial.
